The Best Chocolate Recipe Ever

This one is simple but oh em gee it is the BEST ever.

FULL DISCLAIMER: It is not my recipe, it is my amazingly talented friend and fellow Functional Nutritionist The Nourishing Collective with Shae.

But after many failed attempts to make my own healthier version of my favourite, she shared this one with me and it is my forever go to recipe now and so I had to share it all for you.

1/2 cup cacao butter
1/2 cup nut butter (my fav is macadamia)
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup cacao powder (NOT cocoa!)

Optional extras:

1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup smashed nuts
2 tbsp Chia seeds
2 tbsp raw honey (if needed)

+ Melt cacao butter, nut butter, coconut oil and honey (if using), on low heat until smooth and creamy.

+ Once melted mix dry ingredients in, stir well, place in moulds (or lined baking tray) and freeze until set, ENJOY!

+ Option to amp this baby up as Shae would say, toast the coconut for coconut rough, and add a pinch of salt!

Katy’s fav extra’s

Honestly, I make the base then add what I have at hand in the pantry (which often ends up with a whole mish mash of extras piled in, but its always delish!)

But more seriously, some of my favourite combinations to try are:

+ Peppermint (think mint slice!) just add 6 drops of food grade essential oil, I use this one

+ Almond & Orange - load it up with almonds, and a few drops of orange EO, or some grated orange rind

+ Chili - I always get over excited with the chili (so be careful, unless you are like me and LOVE heat!), and add in grated
