Don’t worry thirty is the new twenty.

At thirty I heard all the goodies.   I even remember buying into some of these thought patterns, anxious about turning the page on a decade, and reassuring myself that thirty was not downhill so to speak.  The thing is - none of these things ring true to me and none of them allow us to own the pasts role in our present identity.

Slow Cooked Apple Cider Chicken

This is one of those perfect set it and forget it meals that became a go to in my house, even when it was just me eating it as the leftover chicken was perfect for lunches for the coming days. 
The best part of using a whole bird is you have all the left over bones to pop back in the slow cooker add some leftover veggies and water and make your own stock - all from nothing.  Talk about no waste living.

The Ultimate Breakfast Bowl

In an attempt to get healthier with my food in my mid twenties I focused on eating regularly and always eating breakfast, usually overnight oats - no commercial cereals this time but still what was probably my least nutrient dense meal of the day.  Now the word breakfast merely defines the time that I choose to break my fast from yesterdays last meal, there is no limits to what can be eaten.  My ultimate breaky bowl is a great nutrient dense choice for breakfast.

I remember the first time leaky gut was suggested to me, I’d heard of it in passing several times but never understood it or realised just how common and easy it is to actually have.  A Leaky gut can cause digestive upset, is linked to creating allergies, and I believe is a likely contributor to auto-immune diseases (which makes some sense when you realise that 80% of your immune system lives in your gut).
